These terms apply to every product and download published at griffith.software and its subdomains ("the Software"), and to this website. "I" and "me" mean Richard Griffith, doing business as Griffith Software.
1. License
Free Software is licensed to you for personal or internal business use on your own devices, at no charge. Paid Software is licensed under the terms shown at purchase, which add to these terms. Unless a product says otherwise, you may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, decompile or reverse engineer the Software, and I keep all ownership of it.
2. Provided as is
The Software and this website are provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. I don't promise the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure or compatible with your devices.
3. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost pay, lost data, lost profits or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Software. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Software in the 12 months before the claim, or $0 for free Software. Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply only to the extent your local law permits.
4. Pay, time and compliance tools are estimates
ClockRoute, CORE and similar tools calculate hours, overtime, pay, credential expirations and training due dates. These figures are estimates that depend on what you enter and on rules that vary by employer, contract, state and country. They are not payroll, legal, tax or compliance advice. Check them against your official pay records and requirements. If you use the Software to manage other people's records, you are responsible for how you collect, store and protect that data.
5. Backups and your data
Most of the Software stores data on your device or in storage you choose. You are responsible for backing it up. I can't recover data that's lost, deleted or overwritten.
6. Support, feedback and changes
I don't promise support, updates, bug fixes or new features, and I may change, pause or discontinue any Software at any time. You're welcome to send feedback through the feedback page. Doing so creates no obligation for me to respond or act, and you agree I may use any idea or suggestion you send without payment or credit.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the Software to break the law, to harm others, or to interfere with other people's use of it. Benchdrop and similar tools run software and open files on your computer. Only point them at projects you trust.
8. Third parties
Some features depend on services I don't control, such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, the Chrome Web Store, GitHub and payment providers. Their own terms apply. Paid purchases may be handled by a third-party payment provider acting as the seller of record for your order.
9. Changes and governing law
I may update these terms and will change the date above when I do. Continuing to use the Software after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
